⚠ BREAKING CHANGES

  • plugin: minAppVersion is now 1.13.0 (was 1.10.0). The settings pane uses the declarative settings API introduced in Obsidian 1.13.

  • getSettingDefinitions() replaces display(): five period sections as groups (Enabled toggle + Folder/Format text controls behind . keys, Template as a render: row keeping the inline file autocomplete, browse modal and clear button — the buttons re-sync the input and roll it back on a failed write), Done status / Periodic Review / Troubleshooting scalars, and the support block. Everything is indexed by the settings search — which is exactly what obsidianmd's prefer-setting-definitions warning asked for, so the lint script now enforces --max-warnings 0.
  • Periodic Notes sync mode: the notice banner is a visible:-gated info row and every period control carries a disabled: predicate — but the UI state is not the guarantee: setControlValue REJECTS period writes while synced. The sync-state listeners re-render via settingTab.update(); they called display(), which never runs under the declarative API.
  • A period’s rows are also disabled while the period is off; the Enabled write re-renders via update() because the Template render row cannot be refreshed by predicates.
  • updateSettings becomes the serialized persist-then-commit write path; applyDebugLogging and notifySettingsChanged fire strictly AFTER the commit, so a failed write can no longer flip debug logging or make listeners re-read rolled-back state. saveSettings stays for load-time use.
  • Support block via .setting-item.jb-settings-embed OUTSIDE the stylesheet’s @layer blocks.
  • Tests: settings-guard.spec.ts + settings-write.spec.ts (13 tests incl. synced rejection, daily.proto rejection, definition structure; mutation-checked against an optimistic commit, an unserialized chain, and dropped side effects). build.changelog.spec.ts proves the define inlines real content.
  • README states the 1.13 requirement; AGENTS.md gains the declarative-settings section; documentation/history records the day.
